Led Zeppelin - How Many More Times

"How Many More Times" is the final track and longest song on Led Zeppelin's first album, checking in at about eight and a half minutes. I could say this about many Led Zeppelin songs, but "How Many More Times" contains some of John Bonham's most skillful drumming. By the way, Bonzo would have been 63-years-old yesterday.

John Bonham's Mother Has Died

According to Led-Zeppelin.org, Joan Bonham has passed away at the age of 81 after a long illness. Click this for the full story.

"Joan was a singer, most notably one of the principal lead vocalists of The Zimmers, a 40-piece British band originally created by BBC television for a 2007 feature documentary on the conditions and feelings of the elderly, as part of the Power to the People series. In September 2008, the band released its first full-length album Lust for Life. Joan was also a fan of big band music, such as the Benny Goodman, and Harry James bands. She also ran a newsagency business in Hunt End, Redditch, Worcestershire, England."

One other thing that I noticed was that she had three children: John, Deborah and Mick. John, as we all know, passed away in 1980 and Mick died in 2000. Sad, children aren't supposed to pass away before their parents.

Led Zeppelin Covered

There are many Led Zeppelin cover bands out there. One, though, that I am looking forward to seeing is Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience which is coming to the New York area next month. Bonham has put his own band together and is going out on the road in tribute to his father, John, the late drummer of Led Zeppelin. I've read mixed reviews so far and it hasn't been against the performances. No, most of the criticism is against Bonham doing anything in the first place. Some of the comments are pretty nasty and quite harsh. I'm open minded to it and I most likely will have a review for another Website. I'll post the link if that comes to fruition.

John Bonham (May 31, 1948 – September 25, 1980)

Tomorrow will mark 30 years since the passing of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, clearly one of the greatest rock drummers ever. Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones called it quits after Bonham's death. The three reunited for Live Aid (with Tony Tompson and Phil Collins on drums) and a benefit in London three years ago with John's son Jason on drums. Rumors persist that there will be future one-offs or even a reunion tour, but in all likelihood it seems doubtful.
