Pete Townshend - The Shout (1996)

Another gem from Pete Townshend! This one, which I could put on repeat all day, is of Pete singing "The Shout" at the Fillmore West on April 30, 1996. The song is off of Pete's Another Scoop (1987), which is a compilation album of his demos. The video is only the audio of the concert that aired on the radio.

Hearing this song again made me visit EelPie.com, which is where you can buy Pete's Scoop albums and/or some of his live albums including Live: The Fillmore (which includes this song). No, I don't get a cut by the way.

Eel Pie brings back memories of Pete Townshend's website from the first half of the 2000s. Pete posted quite often on that site and was very interactive with the fans. It's a shame it isn't still around.

Also, a shame that Pete doesn't write too many blog posts on TheWho.com anymore. The last few years have been very quiet in that regard.

Stumbled upon this video from the 2007 tribute concert for Traffic's drummer Jim Capaldi (August 2, 1944 – January 28, 2005) at the Roundhouse in London. The song is from Traffic's 1967 album Mr. Fantasy.

One of Pete Townshend's best pieces of music is "Pure and Easy," which was the centerpiece for Lifehouse. Townshend plays it live in London for VH1 Storytellers.

I came across this video recently of Pete Townshend and drummer Clem Burke (of Blondie fame) recording in the studio. It's a short clip of the song, but I'm pretty sure Townshend is singing "Come to Mama," which is from his 1985 solo album, White City.
